Buying a 1440p 144hz gaming monitor

Do you guys have any suggestions? I am trying to stay within a $450 budget. Should I wait for the monitors to drop in price? Or is something along those specs out now?

Did you have some monitors in mind? Hard to find much in that price range, I'll have a look on Newegg and see what they've got.

I was trying to go above 24" but i had nothing in mind. Is it worth going to 27" or is 24" 1440p worth the price? In other words, where does (monitor size) 1440p 144hz shine?

Size does matter I look at resolution vs size the other way around. That is, if you want a larger monitor, then you need higher resolution. Around 24" is where I would draw a line. I'm sure a 24" 1440p monitor looks better than a 1080p, but it's not as noticeable as say a 32" monitor. If you were to get a monitor under 24", I'd say to save your money and get a 144Hz 1080p.
I guess another issue would be how close you are to your monitor, if you're only a foot away, then you might want 1440p on a monitor under 24", but if you're 3 feet away, you wouldn't see any difference.

Your not getting it cheap, those displays are really nice but kinda hefty pricetag.

I'm using a ASUS ROG PG278Q which is $650~750 USD but is absolutely amazing. 27" 1440p 144hz monitor with G-Sync.

I have Dell SG2717DG or whatever. 27 inches of 1440p goodness. LOVE IT!!! colors are really excellent too
