Buying a 980GTX+ now?

Hey guys

my current config is:

core 2 duo 2.93 ghz
4gb ram

Now last week my 9800 Gt card blew up on me. I was quite happy with its performance as i dont play on a large screen tv and am happy with medium settings. My rig was able to run most of the games at an acceptable quality(30+ fps ).

Now the thing is i am really tired of shelling out cash on my pc lol..and im getting a very good deal on 9800 gtx+ 512 mb ddr3 card..i am getting it for about rs. 4000 (80$) on ebay india. AT HD 7750 which is slightly better than 9800 gtx+ is available for Rs7000(about 55-60$ more)

So my question being , should i go for the 9800 gtx+ card? I know its an older gen card but i just want to run games decently for like another year. I dont play on a big screen hdtv and dont want the highest quality graphics. I just want the games to run smoothly and nicely

If you were happy with your 9800GT, the GTX+ is even faster, and it costs almost half the price of the 7750. You kind of answered your own question. 😉
 



No, No, No. The nvidia 9800 cards are all bad (bad bumps); It's simply a matter of time before they fail. If you want a cheap card with the same performance try the gtx 280/285/295. Great cards. Or the 560ti. Another great card.

My old 9800GT is in my secondary rig, still gets heavy gaming use a few days a week, and has been going strong for bloody ever.
 

Methinks you are confused with the 86xx mobile parts.
 
I too bought a 9800GTX+ new and although I don't own it anymore the friend I sold it to still uses it and it still runs fine. I never heard of that generation of cards failing at a high rate.

Knowing how anti Nvidia that site is means anything posted there is discounted by those with any intelligence.
 


How can you possibly use that as proof of anything?
