I'm buying a new laptop and I want to make sure I can play a particular game on it.

The minimum CPU specs for the game is stated as -- CPU: AMD FX-8120 – 3.1GHz(Zambezi)

The laptop I am looking at has Intel Core i7-4720HQ 2.6 GHz

I realize the minimum requirement is 3.1GHz and the one I am buying has only 2.6GHz, but does that mean the CPU I'm looking at wouldn't be able to handle the game?

Any insight you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Please let me know if you need more info.

Solution
Your cpu is actually better than the cpu that is required for the game. I assume that all the other components match the specs of the game though.
Your desired CPU is better than the AMD one, as velo3100 said just make sure your other components are up to the task. Also, be careful where you get your info from in terms of minimum requirements as some sites give false info

Thank you very much, I appreciate the info. The laptop I am looking at meets/surpasses all the other requirements so I should be good to go. The system I am looking at is on New Egg ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834314851).

The system requirements are:

CPU: AMD FX-8120 – 3.1GHz(Zambezi)
MB: M5A78L-M (socket AM3)
RAM: 4gig DDR3 PC3-10700 (667MHz)
HD: 50GB Free Disc Space
VGA: GeForce GTX 750 Ti
OS: 64-bit Operating Systems (Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, SteamOS, MacOS X 10.9)

Again, I appreciate the help!
