Buying a laptop for a dummy

5 questions:
1 - HD or LCD?
2 - Dual or Quad Core?
3- How many GB RAM?
4- How many GB HD or HDD?
What are AMD and AMP?
I'm looking to spend under $600.

1 HD is a description (and a very general one at that) of the resolution of the screen. LCD is what the screen is made of. They are not the same thing anymore than you'd say you want a car, should I get a Green one or a Truck?

2. Either is good for most uses.

3. Anything over 2 is good for most uses.

4. 100+ GB unless you will be saving many movies and music files, then you'd want to look at 500gb+

AMD is a CPU and video card maker, AMP, depends on what you mean. There is AMP a company that makes components like cables, AMP as a measure of power, AMP as in "AMPlifier".

Any new laptop in your price range will have all you are looking for.

Look at Lenovo, www.lenovo.com, they are solid and one of the more reliable brands. I usually recommend them.
