Buying a laptop for school.

Hello everyone
I am to buy a new laptop for school use mainly.
I am focused on it being light, small and transportable, since I will be driving with it on a bike.
So far I have stumbled upon 2 laptops that suits the needs, these are
Lenovo Ideapad U430P
HP ProBook 430 G1

Which is better?
I have had a Lenovo Thinkpad before, and I really liked that brand, but from what I can see, the HP is a bit smaller, and cheaper, but I have no user experience with HP (Other than my printer ).
Is it a reliable laptop?
Does anyone have other laptops (same size & price) they can recommend?

More info;
Budget is around 800-900$
Screensize 14" or 13", not smaller or bigger.
I'd prefer Windows 7 or newer, (I have not tried windows 8 yet)
And I would prefer a NON touch screen laptop.

Both great laptops. I would go for the Lenovo. It seems to be a bit lighter. HP is a good brand but lenovos are pretty reliable.
