Buying a Modem Router Combo

Hey guys,

I want the best possible wired ethernet connection possible. Wifi is a plus but to be honest I truly hate wifi and might never use it.

I can't seem to find any really awesome Modem combos though. I wanted the Asus (RT-AC68U) but it does not say it is a modem as well. I don't want to shell out more than $200 for this only to buy a modem also for another $50.

Anyone have any ideas? Maybe I missed something

I will always recommend that you go to the support page of your ISP and pick a device that is explicitly supported for the level of service you are buying. That might mean a discrete modem and separate router. I always recommend the discrete route because it has the most flexibility.

What speed WAN service are you trying to optimize?

I have the Comcast "Blast" Plus which says "105Mbps" for $65/month

Start at whatever Comcast suggests for supported devices.
Your search does not have to end there, but that is a good place to start.

the comcast idiots don't know their asses from their elbows. They wanna recommend me the motorola srufboard 5100 which is horrible and old.

Just give me the information I asked for, thanks!

Don't talk to them...just look on their support page

You were literally less than no help. I don't appreciate your responses at all

Well...I guess my assistance is no longer needed here.

you just evaded my question completely. It just made me irritated is all

Sorry, that we can't be of help, but I totally agree with USAFRet. The Comcast support page is the place to start.
