Buying a monitor questions

I'm in the market for a new monitor, and saw a bunch of open box deals on Newegg that were excellent. However, I wasn't sure how good of an idea this was. I am on a very tight budget, and want to make sure I can get a cheap monitor that won't come broken. Has anyone had any experience with Newegg's open box products in general, and monitors in particular?

im sure they would do testing of some kind on it. newegg is pretty repuatable. check there return policy and warranty info if any to make sure though.
