Buying a New Computer Desk

I didn't quite know what category to put this in, but I am looking to buy myself a new computer desk. I've looked in some places but I wanted to see other opinions. What is the best place to buy a good quality desk for a decent price?

I went through an online auction site, TradeMe in NZ, to find the desk I wanted. Got it for a bargain as well. Might take a month or so to find something decent, but if you live in a big enough place then there is always someone wanting to get rid of something.

That's defiantly a good idea, but seeing that I live in a small town in south Louisiana I think we can rule that out. I found a couple of desks that I like, but the shipping is just ridiculous. For instance, I found an L-Shaped desk I really like for about $220. I wouldn't mind paying $220 for a decent desk if the shipping wasn't another $100+.

We don't really have a category for computer furniture here. I think peripherals would be the best place.

I had my desk custom made from a local cabinet shop. I think I paid about $500 for it, but it was part of a package that included some other stuff with it, so I can't tell you the exact cost.

Kitset/ build yourself ones may have a lower shipping cost. Have a look around online.

Just go to your local hardware store and purchase brackets if they are needed.
