Hello ,
I intend to buy a new gaming pc and could use some help.
budget - up to 2000$ (I already have a monitor, mouse, keyboard, DVD)
After a little research I decided to go for either radeon r9 290x or geforce 780 ti (also - each one has different models and specifications - so I'll appreciate a specific model recommendation)
Regarding CPU- I thought about intel i7 4820K/4770K.
Motherboard - maybe asus z78 or x79.
I'll appreciate any comments and recommendations (I obviously need a good CPU cooler, a 600-700W power supply, 16GB RAM etc, pc case)
Thanks :)

p.s - I should also mention that receiving a bf4 copy is a very nice bonus :)

The GTX 780 Ti is the better GPU.

Dont bother with the 4820k, its really not worth going socket 2011 unless you get the 4930k 6 core. For gaming though, the 4770k + a good cooler (I like the Phanteks TC14-pe)

Okay thanks! and regarding any specific motherboard, power supply etc?

Cant go wrong with the Asus Z87 boards. Pick based on what connectivity options you want. The Sabertooth models are nice.

Ram, just go for whatever 1600mhz kit you can find for a good price.

PSU: look at this link, shows the best PSUs from the top down. Dont go lower than Tier3

Could you help me understand why is the gtx 780 ti is better than r9 290x?

1) It runs cooler and quieter

2) Performance is a small bit better is most games (it is small though).

Just a suggestion, what resolution are you gaming at? If it's only 1080p you might want to go for somthing a little less powerful and save some cash, but if you are happy spending that amount good luck to you!

I am using a 1920x1080 monitor so... do you think its a waste of money buying the 780 ti?

At the moment, possibly, going forward your card will be amazing for 1080p for a very long time.

A regular gtx 780 would be fine if you want to save a little bit of money.

In addition if you bought a regular 780 (still very nice) the cash you saved you could whack in an SSD? Just a thought...

Thats a good point. I wouldnt even think about making a pc like this without a SSD, essential in a modern system IMO (not for gaming performance obviously, just for general system speed).

The SSD really speeds up the system? Does it give you more than a fast boot?

Yeah, in the real world the system is much more responsive and fast. Best upgrade I have ever done, wouldn't even consider having a system without one.

Is it expensive? Could you recommend one?

I would go for the Samsung 840 Evo, either 120gb or 240gb depending on your budget.
