Buying a new laptop for school

Hello ,
I am interested in purchasing a new laptop for my nephew for school as he requires this .
I am not so familiar with laptop hardware so am asking for advice here on which laptop would be a good choice for his needs. Practically the most important features would be processor speed and storage I guess as he wouldn’t be playing games or watching videos . Mostly using files like txt documents and PowerPoint software ect
His budget is $400 Australian , $218 pound sterling, $274 give or take .
Can you guys please give me some suggestions on laptops . Multiple replies welcome

Isn’t really much and it’s £ for pounds sterling.

Have you checked MS Surface Go? It has 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage. I'm sure it can handle PowerPoint presentations and other docs. But if you're into Chromebooks, this is what I found to be best in your price range.
