i'm looking to buy a new monitor, and i've been looking around the web and found out about the two ratios 16:10 and 16:9.
i currently own a 16:10, 21 inch monitor of some brand called digix (got it for real cheap as a deal with my old computer, its quite bad, no hdcp and all)
so i've recently built myself a new gaming rig for the first time (yay) and now i want a new monitor to go with it.
so i no nothing about monitors really just that i want a tn panel as i'm short on cash and as i live in nz and i have a very small range as to what i can buy, i generally want to use my pc for gaming and have gtx 560ti.
Samsung 2443BW+ is one that i can get, its about $400 nz which is 16:10 with 1920x1200 or a Samsung PX2370 23" which is 16:9 and is 1920x1080 and is led around $420. or i can downgrade and get a 1680x1050 21" monitor which has 120hz around $400.
my question is if i get a 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 will my graphics card be able to run the games i play smoothly, and how much fps will drop with the increase in resolution( right now i use 1680x1050)
and i've heard that 16:10 is better than 16:9 for gaming but i could never find a post that says why it is, other than something about the golden ratio, so is it to do with the resolution games support? do some games not support 16:9 or 16:10?
and of the monitors which will be the best buy or if anyone has any new suggestions as to which will be the best for me.
i really hope to order by the end of the weekend so swift replies will be very much appreciated, thanks
