Hey guys, I will be buying a new monitor for my new pc build. My new build runs Intel 5820k with EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti 6G. I need help with picking the monitor.

SAMSUNG 28" U28D590D ULTRA HD 4K (60Hz, 1ms , 3840 x 2160)

or the

ASUS 24" VG248QE (144Hz, 1ms, 1920 x 1080)

I will mostly be gaming, watching movies and sometimes working with photoshop (Amateur). Not sure if I want 144Hz or the 4K Resolution. I will use it for gaming mostly.

I also have another monitor which I want to do dual-monitors with which is the Samsung SyncMaster T200 (old monitor but pretty good.)

Solution
1. 4k is not there yet
2. you have a 980ti
3. 1080p is a waste for your 980ti
4. gysnc and low motion blur are awesome
5. 1440p will be great with 980ti using ultra-low motion blur activate

sorry you asked for reasons.. here they are

go with the Samsung 4k or the ASUS 4k look at the montiors at the bottom of this amazon link

Yes, I was considering that monitor too. But I was told that 144Hz really enchances gaming. I just wanted to know 4K or the 144Hz 1920x1080 will be a better choice. I would appreciate if you can include pros&cons and your reason for choosing the 4k or the 144hz

really my opinion is none off those for your system. I like 1440p at 144htz
