Question Buying a new PC, is this build okay?

After many years it is time to upgrade or rather replace everything. I assume I will be fine since I didn't have much trouble with my 8-10 year old machine, but no sense in buying something bad. (And I might try out VR a bit to see what is new since I tried the dev kit.) Anyway this

is what I have been considering. Mostly a mix of logical increment recs and some recs I saw here. Honestly I am being far more lazy than the last time I built one. I have a monitor and other periphery + an OS (well I registered the windows 10 key to my microsoft account so I think I can just activate it that way?) and my old drives for extra storage. I don't think I really need 32 GB ram but it isn't that expensive so why not. Same for the M.2 ssd. Anyway does this look okay? I might go higher with the total price if there is some price efficient upgrade, to 1200 or 1300 Euro max. But the current components seem to be reasonable on the price/benefit scale? 32gb ram is a good idea. PSU needs to be higher quality. I would choose a case with better airflow. This is at your max budget, but will hold up longer, in future gaming titles.

Thanks, about the case you recommended: Since I never used rgb components I am unsure how easy it is to disable the light. Are they easy to disable or is it annoying and I should just choose components without that stuff?

If you do not want the RGB, you can just not plug it in. I chose the case due to mesh design, with plenty of fans.

Thanks then I will take that one. CPU upgrade is probably a good idea too, single core is pretty similar (I miss Dennard scaling^^) but 2 extra cores is likely something I will find an use for during the years. GPU I am less sure about, but if I do need/want more later upgrading would be more expensive than getting a somewhat stronger one now. And for VR at least there is much room for more demand by just creating better ones with more resolution. I will think about it. I suppose 110 bucks more doesn't make that much of a difference to me so I guess I will probably take that too. And ah a ssd replacement, hmm suppose no sense in getting pcie 3 instead of 4 if the difference is just 20 Euro and the random IO difference is quite big.

Keep in mind if you do upgrade you can likely resell your old parts. That's what I typically do when I upgrade.

A key piece of missing info here is your monitor specs. What refresh / resolution are we gaming in? For now I will assume high refresh 1440 or better., but if you are 1080p, revisions will need to be made.

I stretched your budget to 1300 Euro.

5600 does not getting very hot, so I ditched your aftermarket cooler in place of stock cooler.

I saved you some money on a perfectly capable B450 mobo.

I dumped the extra budget into and savings into a much better graphics card and more capable power supply.

Well my monitor is 3440x1440 @144hz but I mainly have it because I got a large screen so that I can comfortably fit windows beside each other. I mostly play a mix of strategy and indie games, the occasional RPG and undemanding stuff like LoL. And if I do play something intensive, medium settings at 60 fps or something probably wouldn't bother me. Playing around with VR is likely the graphically most intensive thing I will do with it and there performance matters more to my experience, but I think allocating half the money for the graphic card is overkill for me.

There is no ideal mix of cost allocation.

GPU is, by far, the biggest driver for performance at 1440p, so it makes sense to spend the most money on it.

If you are saying you don't actually want to spend 1300, and that is not your real budget, then that is a different story. For reference, here are some measurable differences
