Buying a "new" ssd from Shpock

I've won an ssd on Shpock and I'm collecting it tomorrow but how can I find out if it's working without giving her the money going home THEN finding it out it doesn't work, a few months back I got a HDD online and ignored never came anencephaly I lost £20 and help appreciated thanks
