Buying a pc for the first time

So, I've been playing Skyrim, Dark Souls and some other games on medium settings on my laptop (that's not even for gaming) for about 4 years and I finally have some money to buy a pc. I've been doing some research and mostly have a good idea what I'm looking for but I still have some dillemas so I'm hoping someone can help me. For starters, I'm really into Skyrim modding and graphics so I know a good gpu is a must but can't decide between gtx 1060 3gb or 6 gb. The 3 gb is cheeper so that's what's appealing but I'm worried the vram won't be enough. Second, I really can't decide on a cpu to go along with it. I've seen tons of benchmark videos on yt for the pentium g4560, i3 8100 and i3 8400 but still undecisive. I don't want it to bottleneck my gpu but don't want to pay any more than I need to. Also, any othet suggestion is welcomed. I don't know how much ram I need, is 8 gb enough for now? Also, if you could recommend a good anti-glare 24" monitor for 1080p gaming, that'd be great. :) All in all, I'm into open world rpgs mostly and graphics are really important to me. I'm not unrealistic to think that a budget pc will last for 4-5 and newer titles but I'm hoping to play some of the older ones like modded Skyrim, DS3, Witcher 3, etc. on (very) high settings and at least medium on some newer titles to come so yeah, sorry for the long post and thanks in advance. 😀

16GB RAM is optimal for gaming modern titles and for future planning.

You can get 1060 6GB for prices near to the 3GB card if budget is a problem.

There's not a huge difference between the 8100 and 8400 in price (£60 here). It's not a tiny amount when you consider the percentage over the 8100's price, but you're getting 6 cores and again consider future plans. CPU, gfx and RAM differences in price amount to around than £200 here, depending on specific gfx card, and RAM speed.

So basically you want a system that's beyond your budget, but have a 2nd planned system that will 'do the job', if willing to tweak the games' settings. Join the club. 😀

Yeah, but I can add it later, I was wondering if 8 gb would be enough for now if I were to spend a bit extra on the gpu and cpu.

That's true.

I've been reading how many games can't even utilise the extra cores, don't know if that's true or not..I just want sth that won't bottleneck the 1060 6gb for now, I would get sth better when it's needed.

I was mostly looking at prebuilt pcs with these components but I guess buying the components sperately would bring more flexibility? It's just that I don't know much about all of it, so it would be easier just to get the whole pack.
