Buying a Refurbished Benq XL2420Z monitor directly from BenQ. Good or bad?

Since this monitor is either off sale or on sale for like $500, would buying it refurbished with a 1 year warranty be a good idea or should I go with the ASUS VG248QE

I have an XL2420Z.

I love it.

Out of the box it was an awful image, and was brighter than the sun.

After some tweaking and learning all the options this monitor now has a surprisingly beautiful picture.
