Buying a subwoofer for a pc what would I need to connect it to the pc?

Solution
The correct way would be to use the centre/sub output on the board which would give full control of frequencies to the sub.

In which case you'd buy

3.5mm to rca cable into centre/sub output.

Rca splitter plugged into sub line in inputs , other end plugged onto the red or white cable ends on the 3.5mm to rca cable (trial & error which one is right as it depends which pin outputs centre & which outputs sub)

The way above you need to...
That depends on your motherboard model ??

Easy option is simply split your left/right soeaker outputs from your PC.

Buy those 2 cables , splitter into back of PC , speakers plugged to 1 output , sub plugged to the other with the rca ends to the line input on the sub.

This is the easy way to do it but doesn't offer seperate sub control.

The way above you need to enable 2.1 in system audio settings , its the correct way though & will split the frequencies properly between sub & speakers.
