I am planning to buy a zotac gtx 660 and was thinking if my psu would run it properly or not. My specs are
Intel i5 4590
Intel db85fl motherboard
Kingston hyperx fury 2x4gb 1600mhz
Toshiba 1tb HDD
lg DVD ROM
80mm fan
2x120 mm fan
Will corsair vs 450 run a gtx 660 properly????? and can it play all games at low-med in full hd.....and my cabinet is a crap i ball i9090 and very bad cooling.......will it keep my card cool at idle

Solution

yes dyzlan u are right and thats why it's beter to go with 750 ti isn't it?
Try it, put all of your components into pcpartpicker.com then add your GPU and see if you go over the maximum wattage. Remember if you are right on the edge it is worth upgrading the PSU any for maximum efficiency.

my friend.... according to the geforce group gtx 660 has psu requirement of 450W...... but since u have an i5 processor gtx 750 ti will be the best option for you to buy..... it's because if u r looking for playing latest pc games then u might experience some disturbances as far as today's gaming goes whch actually has bad optimisation but in case of gtx 750 ti..... which actually has a psu requirement of 300W u will have much more efficiency moneywise or gamewise....

jatish my friend u have an i5 processor so if u wanna improve ur performance u have to buy a psu first then think about the gpu... If ur total wattage is 323 W... then 750 ti will be ideal u have to buy a psu in both case but 750 ti will be the better choice.....

The GTX 660 will work fine with a 450w PSU, though I wouldn't trust the longevity of that particular unit. I have a similar i5 and a GTX 770 (around 100-120w more power consumption) running on an RM550.

Solution

Yes, though I'd still recommend upgrading the PSU at some point soon.
