Hey,

I built my first PC in 2020, and the GPU seems to be dying a very early death.
It's a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER 4 GB WINDFORCE OC Video Card, which I got for around $170.

Unfortunately, I'm about to re-launch a Twitch channel in a few weeks, and I need the PC to be working reliably.
Of course, I wanted a 3060 since I'm trying to edit 6K video in Resolve, but that seems like it will never happen given the Covid GPU market.

A repair tech I know is offering a RTX 2060 for $760.
Is this in any way a deal I should take? The same 1650 Super I bought is now roughly 7x its original price.

Sorry if this is obviously a bad idea - I'm still fairly new to PCs, and this GPU market thing is blowing my mind.
I also need to be up and running very soon.

What would you do in my situation?

Thanks!

Put it this way, you can buy an rx 6600xt for about $650. I was lucky and got mine at $439.99 at Microcenter. So 650 is scalper pricing, but the performance on that is between a 3060 and 3060ti. The upside of those cards is that they were only released on August 11th, so they wouldn’t have had to much time mining.

It looks like open box or new 3060 cards are just under 700. The 2060 is a lot lot better card than a 1650 performance wise. Hopefully longevity wise as well.
