Buying an extra HDD for my rig

I currently have a 120GB SSD with Windows on and a 1TB HDD for games and storage. The 1TB HDD is running out of space and i think im going to buy a new extra HDD.

My question is:
Is the installation of the HDD just plugging in the SATA connector to the motherboard and turning on the computer?

You also need to check if there is room in your case for another HDD, there are plenty of tutorials like the one above.

You will also need a power cable for the hard drive and somewhere to mount it within the computer. I would recommend researching on YouTube how to install a HDD and then opening your PC so you can check if their is indeed room for and the power cable for a new Hard Drive.

I know what cables goes into the HDD my question was more about, if i had to set up something in the BIOS or in windows for it to work?

No, you won't have to use the BIOS for it to work. If you want, when it boots after you install the hard drive you can check the BIOS to see if the drive has been recognised. When Windows loads, it should just recognise it as another hard drive and you can carry on using it as normal. You can also check using the Disk Management utility - it should be ready to use, and it will be assigned a drive letter.

Sometimes, windows won't recognize a new HDD. If it doesn't see it, get software like EaseUS Partition Master (free edition) and create a partition on the drive. You'll be good to go after that. Happy gaming!!!
