Buying an item from Newegg ON EBAY --- few ?'s

Hi all -

Quick questions that I had no idea where to put, I thought this sub-forum would be the most appropriate but I apologize if not.

One thing is this- if I were to buy one of the components for a build from Newegg on eBay, would I get all the warranty/return/purchase protections that I would get from them as if I bought it direct from their website?

Second sub-question to that, say I did buy the item, and there was a rebate being offered on their website, would I also still qualify to get the rebate?


The reason I am asking this is because (obviously I am getting ready to buy components for a build lol AND) I have an eBay PayPal gift certificate that is ONLY good when purchasing something through eBay. I learned the hard way if you buy something from a normal e-commerce website and load up PayPal to pay, it won't let you, you have to buy from eBay and then the gift certificate can be used. I would like to use it to buy something but I don't want to give up warranty or shall I say, return ability (say I get a dead product or it malfunctions within the 30 days) also don't want to lose a rebate if I choose to buy one of those products.

I think the purchase policy is the same as their dedicated web store

If Newegg is selling an item on Ebay, I would contact Newegg customer support, ask them if they will warranty the item or allow for returns. Get the name of the person, ID number and any other relevant info. if they say no, then don't buy those items or buy them at your own risk.

Newegg has a whole ebay storefront so that is why I figured it wasn't fishy, I hear ya as I don't usually take risks but I thought it looked pretty legit. Maybe I am offbase though, thanks.

Great questions. If you purchase the item from our Ebay store, you would receive the same manufacturers warranty/return policy as you would from our website. As for the rebate, you would need to submit an invoice that you purchased the item directly from our website to qualify for the rebate. Thank you very much good sir - while it would be nice to be able to get that rebate, I believe i can purchase an item or perhaps two ( a big and a small -valued pair of items) that aren't rebate items so I can still make it work. But very good to know, thank you very much!

On a personal preference, I prefer shopping at ebay
