Buying from Nvidia (and one other question)?

Hello everyone,

Has anyone had experience purchasing a graphics card directly from Nvidia? If so what was your experience like?

The reason I ask is because I've got everything sorted for my new build, the only exception being a graphics card, and Nvidia are currently offering the best deal for the card I want (£399.00 for the GTX 1070 Founders Edition). But I'm rather hesitant about purchasing directly from Nvidia because I've heard their RMA/customer service is terrible.

Also what's the gaming performance of one 1070 on a 3440x1440, 60Hz monitor like? Would FIFA 17, GTA V and NBA 2K17 run smoothly at 60fps on ultra/high settings?

I bought my hb sli bridge directly from nvidia, it arrived fairly quickly and I had no issues with the transaction or anything. I would recommend against the founders edition unless you have poor case ventilation which requires you to vent exhaust directly out the back, the fe usually cost more and are lower clocked, they are the first gen of the card and might not oc as well as a third party card like asus.

Thanks for the response oobymach. It's good to hear you didn't have any issues buying direct from Nvidia. As for the founders edition, I fall under the "unless you have poor case ventilation which requires you to vent exhaust directly out the back" category.

I bought two titans from them recently and the new bridge and they came very quick and had no issues.

@k1114 Thanks, but no thanks. I've not had the best experience with Zotac before. I tend to avoid them when possible, even though their cards are some of the cheapest available. However I'll have a look at the MSI card, I didn't know they offered a blower style GPU.
