I was going to buy the gtx 970 G1 gaming from gigabyte for £300, but now I have noticed that on the same website they are selling a zotac omega 780ti that includes borderlands pre sequel (which I want), mouse pad (which I need) and 3 spliter cell games (meh) for £295. Obviously the 780ti is a WAY better deal and the 780ti seems to have a tiny tiny better performance although I am not sure as the G1 overclocks like a champ.

However, biggest worry for me with the 780 ti is that it "only" has 3 gb vram while the 970 has 4 gb vram, With games like shadow of mordor and the evil within, I fear that the 780ti will not max out games soon and I need my new card to do that for the next 2 years at least.

I currently have HD 7970 wih 3gb ram. What would you do?

Go for gtx 780 ti if you are interested in those extra gifts the gtx 780 ti is a little bit faster than the gtx 970 dont worry about the extra vram shadow of mordar the requirement is 6 gb vram but i have seen people playing it with gtx 770 maxed out just keeping the aa settings low.

The gtx 780 ti is discontinued by nvidia so the stores are clearing their stocks with gifts and low price couple of months ago the same card was above 600$.

I read your reply and it was good but I was hoping for a few more :)

Also, do you not think the 970 would be better for the future as the vram requirements are going up?

gtx 970 is more future proof yes but not just for Vram but for more OC space and newer technologies but gtx 780 ti when you are getting for such low price and with so many gifts i think its a great option for you.
