Buying new GPU

Hello,

i think my "bottleneck" is my GPU. My rig is Intel I5, 8 gig ram, Msi R9 270x gpu.

Which GPU would have a signifficent boost to my rig. Im currently playing DOOM on vulcan API and im not very impressed by the framerate.

So which one would be the best upgrade option?

Which i5 do you have? If its a i5-2500k or better you can stick with AMD and get the RX 480 or if you want a little more processing power the NVidia GTX 1060. If you have the budget then the NVidia GTX 1070 is a great pick for 1440p.

I3, I5 and I7 naming convention has been through more than 1 generation.
We need to know which I5 are you talking about.

If I was to guess, you bought that I5 together with 270x and that I5 could be either Ivybridge or Haswell.
If this is the case, you can still pick any new GPU you want, preferably RX480 or GTX1060 or higher.

aside from tthe topic, adding another 8GB RAM will do good too.
