Hey guys, I'm planning on buying gtx 1050. But, can my g41 motherboard handle it?
I know it's old, but please, don't suggest me to build a new pc, cause the budget that i had now can only afford gtx 1050

Solution
UEFI is the new sort of software built into computer hardware that turns everything on and lets your computer boot. It replaces the BIOS.
I would think that motherboard should work fine. It won't be artificially limited like some OEM boards are. It looks like someone was able to get a gtx 950 working on the same board, so the 1050 should work.
New cards can sometimes not be recognized by old motherboards that don't support UEFI. If you built your computer yourself, there is a good chance that it will work. If you bought your computer from HP or DELL, there is a chance it won't work. Try googling your specific machine or motherboard to see if other people have had luck upgrading to modern GPUs.

What's UEFI?
I don't built the pc myself, but i got a mechanic built it for me, and it was built back in 2012, and i don't buy it from HP or DELL either. And i've been trying to google about this issue before, but i got no answer...
To be specific here is my mobo, ecs g14t-m16.
So, will it runs?

Okay, let's say it worked, but me and my friend here had another irrational fear about it might burnt the motherboard, since the gpu is to strong for the old motherboard.
Would that likely to happen?
Or was it ever happened to someone?

That concern is silly.
