i already have PC loaded with Nvidia 1080 Rtx , and now i want to build new PC with either 3080 or 4080 , i alway play on streaming on my handheld or steam deck , so i don't care playing more than 1920 X 1080 . because my handheld support 1920 X 1080 and my steam deck support 1280 X 800 , but i do very care about framerate to be solid 60 fps , some game like red dead redemption 2 wont reach 60 fps even on 1920 X 1080 .

so is it better to buy 3080 instead of the expensive 4080 ?

As stated both cards are overkill for 1080p 60fps but in the UK the price difference between the 3080 and the 4070ti is not that huge. With the prices being what they are then the 3080 becomes a hard sell for me unless you can get a really good price on it especially considering the 4070ti outperforms the 3080 by a good margin.

Pricing may be different in your region but it is worth thinking about.

As you are at 1080p then if you can hold fire until the 4070 / 4060 (or AMD equivalent) are released then they may be more suited to your use case saving you some money but still getting a card that will hit your target.

For 1920x1080 resolution gameplay and streaming a Nvidia RTX 2070 is more than enough for your needs and it's an upgrade over your Nvidia GTX 1080 because of the RT cores.

Whilst true in some regards an upgrade from a 1080 to a 2070 is basically a side grade. Whilst you do gain DLSS and RT you don't get much more rasterisarion performance.

With new games coming in like Hogwarts Legacy already eating up Vram and requiring a higher end card to run at 1080p with all the bells and whistles on, then something with 12GB of vram or above would be my advice at this stage. I see this being a trend for a lot of AAA games in the future.

OP - can you list the rest of your system specs please as this can have a big influence over the performance you would receive from certain cards. Worth looking at prior to any purchase.

Please include Make, model and age of power supply as well.

Processor : interl core i5 - 13600k
Motherboard : asus prime Z790-p
Ram : 32GB
case: Lian li o11 dynamic evo

i bought those until now

i read too many threads about the best processor for the 4080 , and most of them said the i5 13600k is enough for gaming on 4080 .

but when i intend to buy this card and read about , most threads and official website said it good graphic card but the only negative side is too expensive for what its give

That's why i wrote this thread , thinking i might buy the 3080 for less money and good enough for me .

and just want to say the Nvidia asus Tuf price in my country is 1450$ and asus 10 gb ram 3080 is 800$
