Buying ram from recommended motherboard list necessary?

I am thinking of buying new ram for my computer but the ram I want isn't on the recommended ram list for my motherboard. Is it really necessary to buy exact ram from that list? I am thinking of buying Crucial 2x4GB DDR4 2133 CT2K4G4DFS8213

MSI H110I PRO AC
Intel core I3-6100
Crucial 1x8GB DDR4 2133 CT8G4DFD8213
Toshiba 640GB 5400 rpm
Sapphire Radeon rx 460

That board supports DDr4 2144 yes you will be fine

No, generally you just have to match the rough timings. When you are looking at just 2133 it should all work.

Recommended lists are.... hmm, how to put it... simply the stuff they actually had around at that time for testing the new mobo. Any memory conforming to the mobo specs should work fine, don't worry.

it only means anything when a few past years have past and your looking for ram for it 😛 like for DDR2 lists... came useful
