Alright, so today I see an used gaming computer and asked the guy if I could buy it in parts, he has an i7 930 and an P6T SE Deluxe both of which he says were used for 1,5 years. He's willing to give it away for around 150$ which in my country I could buy an 860k and a motherboard new for that money.
So my thoughts exactly on my build are here
i7 930 used or 860k new
Asus P6T SE or MSI A88X/other
I have 8gb's of RAM laying around
The GPU will be an gtx 960
And the PSU is an decider. I'm not sure if to go for a CX430>CX600 (my retailer can only supply cx series for my budget)
This will be used for 1080p gaming, any advice apreciated.

The g3258 if overclocked should perform pretty well with a r9 270x or a gtx 960. Any card better than that will be hindered by the CPU. If upgraded to a 3570k\3770k in the future then any GPU wouldn't be bottlenecked.

Thats actually a pretty tough decision. If you are capable of overclocking then the waters become even muddier.

The i7 930 is really beginning to show its age these days. It was a great CPU back in the day but is not amazing against todays CPUs. The 860k is an OK budget build CPU but doesn't have any upgrade path on the FM2 socket. You would be fine with an 860k for a while though. Either of these overclocked would play most games just fine on high settings for the moment.

Personally I would go for the g3258 which is the Intel CPU that competes with the 760k and 860k CPUs. The g3258 when overclocked can handle gaming pretty well for a dual core and when you are ready to upgrade you can drop a i5 3570k directly into the same motherboard as the g3258.

Would a G3258 with an 960 make sense? Or should I save some money with an lower end gpu?
