Hi everybody.

I have a question that has nothing to do with gaming machines > yes you heard me!

I have been tasked with the job of building aprox 15. workstation PC's that will be used for primarily for Maya, Max and the Adobe suite.

Just to be clear, I live in Denmark > and the prices of Radeon card are better choices than their GeForce counterparts > and with the impending support of OpenCL it just doesn't seem smart to buy GeForce.

So really it's a question of Quadro/Firepro vs Radeon.

Sadly I am not experienced enough to point out the obvious dis-/advantages of buying workstation cards, but they are way more expensive compared to their cousins from Radeon which are based off the same architecture.

I don't exactly know where I am heading, but I have come to the conclusion so far that a 4GB 290 would be a good choice, leaving lots of RAM for big scenes (which might be a posiblity) and amazing OpenCL performance.

Please come with inputs on what you guys think.. I really need some support here! <3

well give us a rough estimate, and what shops is there that i can look on for an idea

Check caseking.de. I honestly can't tell you because they haven't even given me a price. I have to come with a quote of what I feel is best > which is again why I am looking at desktop GPU's.
