Buying X99 Deluxe II in 2018

Is it wise to buy that mobo for continuous usage of i7-5960X?

I had to downgrade because previous mobo become kaput, in the meantime i use 2500K 4.5GHz.

Question from kajapix : "Purchasing X99 Deluxe II in 2018"

X99 Deluxe from 2014 short circuited 3 months ago and i had to downgrade to 2500K 4.5GHz until i can afford something decent again.

My question to you folks is as in the title. Is it good idea to purchase Deluxe II in 2018 with i7-5960X with O.C (4.2 or 4.3GHz)

Slightly worried about missing PCIe 4.0 etc.

How about we stick to one thread AND one account.
