I've been trying to figure this out for two days now, I'm getting super stressed! I don't know what too do!

So I made sure the wiring for the speakers was correct, they are! Checked them on another cpu they work fine, I tried the front port and back port with headsets and still get the buzzing/hissing noise with no audio!

I tried uninstall and reinstalling all sound drivers, sound still persist! I re installed windows 10, and still has the noise! I'm at a loss please help!

Also my windows system is Windows 10 64 bit, and motherboard is a Asrock z97 anniversary.

First check that you have the absolute correct driver for your chip. Here is the download support for your board. http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97%20Anniversary/?cat=Download.

you could try this as a back up /test os to see if under it the audio will work or still not ?

You can download the Linux Mint operating system for free. It comes as an ISO file
which you need to burn to a blank DVD. The liveDVD is then bootable and provides a
fully-functional operating system which you can try without affecting your PC. In
layman's terms, when you put Linux Mint on a DVD and place it into your computer, you
can try it out while leaving your current system intact.

under the live dvd booted to desktop try your sound and see if it still don't work maybe a bad sound chip or motherboard issue

page 79

Onboard HD AudioEnable/disable onboard HD audio. Set to Auto to enable onboard HD audio and automatically disable it when a sound card is installed

I guess it still enabled ?

so I guess it did not work under the Linux OS ? like I said with that 10 involved no telling what it has done [[malware]

maybe one of the solved posts from here may help ?

in the bios under '' 4.4.2 Chipset Configuration '' just like from the manual I linked ? page 78/79 its should be default ''auto ''

or you could try Clear CMOS

allows you to clear the data in CMOS. To clear and reset the system parameters to default setup

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/780454/Asrock-Z97-Anniversary.html?page=22#manual

just remember you may then have to go back and set any manual settings like memory timings / xpm profile sata port configuration [ide. ahci, raid ] what ever you got that's not a default setting

cant say. only you know at what point your at in trying something ? if you down to thinking the audio went bad on the board maybe the best option ?

then you may find your still in the same boat ?

I'd burn that live dvd of Linux and boot to it and se if it would then work you don't have to install it on a hard drive just boots from the dvd alone

that way you may can see if it works then its not the board and maybe something with 10 causing it .. if it still don't work maybe a mother board issue ??

all you can do is your best guess and process of elimination. then buy that sound card and hope for the best from it

Just thought I'd let you know, I got the sound card, installed it and now the audio is working 100%, just seems like the sound on the bored finally blew, guess it happens even to high value machines. lol
