A buzzing noise like mosquito starts at windows startup and continues in the background, effecting all sound quality with this background hum. What component is the problem?

Solution
Try the speakers in something other than your computer. The whine should go away.

But from what youve said, the problem is coming from inside your PC.

First - check the grounding. The power cable from the back of your PC should have 3 prongs on it. Make sure all 3 are plugged into your power script - DO NOT use any kind of adapter to go from 3 prongs to 2 prongs. Trace the chain of cords and plugs all the way to the wall and make sure there are no adapters anywhere.

Next check inside your PC for loose cards, or loose plugs.
You mentioned the buzz changes when you remove the cover. does the cover have a fan on it? .. if so check those connections. Try temporarily unplugging the fan. if no change, plug it back in.

Sounds like a loose connection, or bad speakers.

Try plugging some headphones into the same plug. If the whine goes away in the headphones, its the speakers.

Plug the speakers into something else, if there is no whine there either, than something outside your case is interfering with your speakers. Try a different plug on your motherboard . If the speakers have a power cord, make sure its properly grounded.

Tried headphones...same noise. Moved the cordlless phone to a different outlet, buzz continues. Tried a different USB port for the speakers, no change. Removed cover from computer to see if I could hear the same noise...NO, buzz and static coming from speakers (like an electronic gnat.) Any ideas? thanks for your help.
