Buzzing sound coming to my headphones when I start up a game

I have the Audio-Technica ATH-M50 headphones and when I start up Hearthstone game I hear a buzzing noise, can anyone help?

Check to ensure any unused inputs are disabled. I remember hearing something similar back in the day if the cd audio input was left on.

If you have the headphones connected to the from jack, try the one at the back. Some systems share the ground for USB and Audio and this can lead to some noise issues.

unfortunate you are at the mercy of the board design as far as how well filtered the power that feeds the sound card is. This is the reason some users get external sound cards(get then away from interference) and others take it a step further with a linear power supply for the sound card and isolated usb to usb adapter(this may be overkill. modern switching power supplies when filtered right should be quiet enough for audio use).

I have my headphones plugged at the back. When I mute the sound I still hear the buzzing. What should I do to fix this?

I would check to ensure you have NO inputs unmuted.

They should be under Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound -> Playback -> Properties(on your default output) -> Levels. Try to must anything that is not a play control.

Since you say this happens under load(game), this may also be picked up switching noise within the system(switching power supplies adapt to the current load).

Some users have had luck setting the systems power plan to High Performance or even turning off power savings in the bios. You can try these as a last resort. This keeps the cpu at full speed, this uses more power(depending on the system some do not use too much more), but the cpu is not constantly clocking up(at at least getting full voltage) and down resulting in large fluctuations is power supply load.

Please note these users also had this noise coming from the systems power regulation system(around the cpu area and sometimes even from the power supply).

I have personally had a board that made all kinds of coil noise under different loads turning off some of the power savings features fully removed this noise.

The buzzing noise fluctuates when I move my mouse around, My mouse is a wired one. This is fine a few days ago and I don't know what's wrong please help

I do not think it is the headphones.

I had my ps3 plugged into the line in jack, I unplugged it and was not muted/disabled, I plugged it back in and muted it and seems like the buzzing has stopped

Well lets hops it was just that. Devices have strange interactions sometimes(having a cable box connected to a system can cause a humming sound on systems too).

It is strange you seemed to have nothing in the playback -> default device -> Levels section. All my systems have some things line line/mic in ect.

That looks more like it.

If you have any issues again, try to mute all of those extras to see if it helps.
