Greetings,

As I said in the title I'm looking for a way to bypass my universities throttling on the dorm WiFi. The WiFi at my university dorm is quite good (60-80 mb/s up, 5-10 down), however, if I am to put any stress on it higher than 5-10 mb/s in either direction for an extended period of time the bandwidth is quickly throttled to a crawl (less than 1 mb/s). This is a big annoyance for any type of extended use, and has stopped me from being able to do some things whatsoever (downloading steam games in a reasonable time, live streaming, etc.). For reference, each apartment-size dorm room also has it's own individualized router, I live in Ireland, and my ISP is NTL Ireland (Liberty Global B.V ). I understand this might not even be possible, but if there is a way, I'd love to know how.

Thanks!

stick with 1 thread. don't spam the forum
Greetings,

I'm having trouble with my WiFi being throttled whenever any significant stress is put on it. My WiFi is quite good (60-80 mb/s up, 5-10 down), however, if I am to put any stress on it higher than 5-10 mb/s in either direction for an extended period of time the bandwidth is quickly throttled to a crawl (less than 1 mb/s). This is a big annoyance for any type of extended use, and has stopped me from being able to do some things whatsoever (downloading steam games in a reasonable time, live streaming, etc.). For reference, I live in Ireland, there are max 5 people on my WiFi at any time, and my ISP is NTL Ireland (Liberty Global B.V ). If anybody has any insight on why this might be happening or how to fix it, that would be great.

Thanks!
