c ant seem to detect my hard drive

hi
I have been trying to play age of empire (the age of kings)
on the zone. i can enter the zone enter the games room with
my hot mail address but when i trie to link into a game a
message appears and says (unable to detect age of empire tm.on your hard
drive.....)
does anybody have any clue what my problem is.

elmos site mentions that the game can be installed on any harddrive but i
remember in the past Ive had games that would get angry if I did not
install them in the program files directory on the main drive C:/

take that as an option if your in the right place on the zone and it wont
let you because of it being on a D-Z:/ drive.

also as far as patches, on age of empires I've been able to get right into a
game room ( with the program started) and then it would say nope "you need a
patch" ,so a patch hasnt kept me out of a game, just from playing it.
