C drive draining space causing bsod

Hi

I'm having some problems with my C drive draining space quickly from somewhere which i think is what is causing blue screens whilst playing games, it doesn't happen if I'm not playing games like browsing or just on my desktop. I started in my C drive with 17GB left and i bluescreened and when i reopened This PC it told my my C drive now had 9.33GB, after one game i bluescreened and then i went down to 9.26GB.

I ran a malware bytes scan but nothing came up,i did an error check on my C drive but nothing came up there either. Also I'm running windows 10.

as a start
run the windows drive cleanup manager
cleanmgr.exe

I would also run cmd.exe as an admin then run
dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

it will check for corrupt windows core files and attempt to fix them.

Without knowing what is being allocated to your drive it is very hard to tell you what to do to fix it.
a large drop in disk space might mean you have a pending windows update, or a corrupted search index database.
it is just hard to tell without looking at what files are taking up the space.

generally to figure out the bugchecks (bluescreen) you need to provide the bugcheck code. Each code can have very specific causes and fixes. You should not hit a bugcheck unless you are hitting a programming mistake in a device driver or you have something that is causing the data in your system memory to become corrupted.

Alright, thanks. It doesn't appear that anythings wrong and I also downloaded and ran Ccleaner and cleared loads of space which seems to have stopped the issue but the bluescreening keeps happening and I think, after doing some more research, that i need a new power supply/less demanding card as it is not enough for my current GPU.

you would have to run something like bluescreenview.exe or whocrashed.exe to get
the bugcheck error from the memory dumps. each bughceck code and sub error code can have a different cause.
generally graphics cards will produce bugcheck 0x124 errors if they overheat and pull too much power from the motherboard. bugcheck 0x116 error codes if there is a driver conflict with sound devices.

The first parameter of the bugcheck is a error subcode used to figure out what the problem is.
you can get bugchecks in the GPU for unrelated problems, for example a bad connection to the hard drive can prevent a section of a graphic driver from loading and result in a GPU bugcheck when it fails to load. it would be a problem with the drive subsystem but people would blame the GPU.

9.33 Gb is loads of free space for windows to run fine. Check your RAM with memtest, debug, or find someone who knows how to debug the BSOD errors to see what's causing your bluescreens.
