C drive is in the red, nearing full capacity

I've only had the desk top since last December. The capacity is 1 TB. I do regular clean ups and check ups and it was only early yesterday that I saw it in the red.

My laptop has the same capacity and I've had it for three years currently and it's not half full.

I can only assume it's infected or buggy? It was at 788 GBs Saturday. It's now 14 GBs.

I'm doing a massive junk/useless file clean up but I don't think that will work, as I remove junk and other useless files on a regular basis.

I've been looking to see how to fix the problem but I have yet to find anything. Any tips/suggestions will help me greatly.

You should run a program like WinDirStat. It will visually show you what is taking up space on your hard drive and allow you to delete it.

Also run malware and anti virus sweep. There some know virus that fill hd with junk.

That's all right. When loosescrews suggested I download WinDirStat, I looked at what hogging up the memory, and it was Puran Utilities that I had recently downloaded.

Ouch. Reminds me of the Norton AV I downloaded onto my mac HTPC. Thing took 250GB of space. (The mac had a 500GB HDD)
