Hi forum,

I'm trying to format my Laptop (Asus g752v) from an external drive but once I get into the Windows Installer my C: drive does not show up.
I've tried the "Diskpart" trick but the drive doesn't show on the "list disk" step.

Any help on why the drive isn't listed would be appreciated.

My C: drive is an SSD. Running on Windows 10 Home. All drivers up to date.

Thanks.

It's not the "C drive" until after the OS is installed.

What are you actually trying to do, in detail, please.

Sorry if I didn't specify. I am trying to format the C: drive so I can make a clean Windows install.
I called it C drive cause it has the Windows 10 in it.
Once I reboot my system I boot into my external drive and go into the Windows Installer. Then that window shows up with the list of all your drives which gives you the option to format them and I can't format the C: drive from there. I usually can but it's the first time I'm doing it with this laptop and it's not working for some reason.

Edit :
Here's the picture of my drives. None of those are the one where Windows 10 is installed.

Right.
If you start the system from the existing OS on the drive (which calls itself the C)...you cannot format that drive and partition.
The running OS will not allow you to kill itself off.

You must boot directly from your install media. Not the current hard drive.

I AM booting from the Install Media. I have an external hard drive only with the IM in it. The OS is not running while I am in the IM, hence my confusion on why it's not working.

OK...which drive are you trying to install to?
The 1TB Drive 0, or the 2TB Drive 1?
Or something else?

It is highly advisable to have only the desired target drive connected when you do this install.
Having this Windows install boot thing living on the 2TB drive complicates things.

The drive where I am trying to install does not show in that print screen I sent you. The drive where I have my windows Installed does not show there, and it should (?). It always did in the past.
It should be Disk 1 which is where my C: is but it's not showing .

Here's my Disk Management window if it helps to clear anything:

So you're attempting to install on the 250GB SSD, deleting what is currently on it?

Does this SSD appear in the BIOS?

Do you have a USB stick of at least 5GB?
I'd use that, instead of a partition on the 2TB drive.

Disconnect ALL drives except for the target SSD and this USB thing you're going to create.
Boot from the USB and see what happens.

So I tried doing as you said and running the Installer from an USB stick.
Still no luck.
The drive where I want to reinstall Windows 10 still doesn't show up.

Does that drive appear in the BIOS?
If not, it is either not connected properly, or actually broken.

Also, disconnect that 1TB drive. Have only the 250GB SSD connected.

Yes it shows in the BIOS.
Unfortunately I cannot disconnect anything. I forgot to mention that the 1TB drive showing up is an internal HDD. This Laptop model comes with an SSD for the OS and an HDD separately.
Here's a picture of my drives in MY Computer :

C: is the OS Drive (The one I am trying to format and reinstall the windows 10 on)
D: is the HDD that is internal. I cannot disconnect it.
E: I am not sure about E but I am pretty sure it was a separate partition I made a few months ago.

Here's BIOS's Main window:

I searched in the Asus website for any Drivers related to SSD drives but there's nothing there.
Not sure where else to look.

Here's what I am getting from that CMD :

I installed this software called Samsung Magicion and it does also not recognize both drives.

Both show as Unknown Drives.

Is there a way to download any drivers specifically for this SSD? Although I am not sure if this is a missing driver.
