Hello,
Can you people please suggest me a good motherboard and cabinet for my PC. I am planning to buy the follwing:
Processor: i5-2400
Ram:4GB DDR3
GPU: Radeon HD 6770 1GB DDR5

Solution

Corsair CMPSU-500CXV2UK 500 Watts PSU 3058

LG GH22NS70 Internal Optical Drive (Black) 991

ASUS P8H61-M LX Motherboard 3172

Cooler Master Elite 370 Mid Tower Cabinet 2574

Total 9795

A little bit to spare for any upgrades. This should be a minimum. A 500w PSU will cover the 6790. Use the extra money to upgrade the components, probably the motherboard.

hi sunnyjoy! :)

wow just typing your name makes me feel better.

is this something your putting together for a long haul (not looking to upgrade anything for awhile)?

what are you looking to do with it? (word processing, email, video encoding, gaming)

what kind of budget are you looking at?

My budget is around INR 35000. Equivalent to almost $715. Actually I am looking for a gaming PC

Is that $716 considering what you already posted or would that include it? I know of some great cases, like the Corsair 500R, but they would probably be out of your range if all you have is $715.

As for mobo, I would suggest any of the Asus line. Mainly, since you are going with a non K edition, a H67 so you can save a bit of money there. No neet for the P67/Z68 if you can't overclock the CPU anyways.

The price is like below:
Processor : INR 11000
RAM : INR 1100
GPU : Around INR 7000 [Radeon HD 6770 or 6790]

The remaining INR 11000 for DVD R/W , MOBO, PSU and Cabinet

So you are saying that you have roughtly the cost of an I5-2400 left to purchase the rest of these components. It might be a stretch, considering that you need a good PSU, a relatively good mobo and case and DVD drives are cheap. Do you have a HDD? Do you have a preferred website/ supplier?
