Cable for usb

I have a labtop which has a DVD player on it. I was told that I would be able to buy a USB to analog cable that will display the DVD's on the TV.
I cant find a cored like this. USB to analog(video, sound). Dose anyone know where to look or what they are called??

I assume that you have a VGA out on the laptop to use a external monitor.
The best will be to get a device known as " Scan convertor " that will change the VGA picture to Video so you can display it.
