Hi

So i have an AMD RX480 with a Acer GN246HL Monitor which supports 144hz. The problem was that i couldnt connect the dvi-d dual link cable on the graphics card since it only had displayports and hdmi's, so i bought this DVI-D Dual Link to HDMI cable. the cpu still detects the monitor, however whenever i change to 144hz, it'll say cable incorrect please use dual link. I checked if the cable was dual link and it is. Any ideas?

Problem is that HDMI to DVI adapter you are using is HDMI to single link DVI-D. For 1080p@144Hz(or even 120Hz) you would need HDMI 2.0 to dual link DVI-D and I don't think they make any as they are not readily available(atleast I was unable to find any). They do make Displayport to Dual link DVI-D adapters but the ones that support 1080p@120-144Hz are around $100+ and even then they have issues.
