Cable internet doesn't work on 100 mbps.

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my cable connection since I installed, two days ago, a wireless USB. My cable connection is limited and it doesnt work as it supposed to do (on high speed), before I installed the driver of wireless USB adapter the internet was fine and the speed was at 100 mbps but now its limited at 10 mbps.

I searched on internet and seems like my ethernet connection is limited on 10 mbps full duplex.
I tried to change it on 100 mbps full duplex or 1 gbps full duplex and after I select the settings and save the internet won't start, it only says that the cable is unplugged or broken, wich is false because on 10mbps its working.

Specs:
Motherboard: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS HERO VII
Router: ASUS RT-AC52U
USB Adaptor Wireless: AC50
Connection: 300 mbps
Chipset (I think): Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (2) I218-V

Are you talking about Ethernet or Wi-Fi? Ethernet is the network cable plugged into the network port. Wi-Fi is 802.11ac and uses an antenna. It sounds like your drivers or hardware are not working properly. Make sure you have the latest drivers installed. Make sure you aren't using Ethernet and wireless at the same time. If Ethernet try a different cable. If Wi-Fi try moving the computer/antenna to a different location. If those fail you may need a new network adapter or router.

I am talking about ethernet, the Wi-Fi has a constant 94 mbps download and 92 mbps upload, I disabled wireless connection and i tried to set duplex on 100 mbps but it still says that the cable is not plugged in, I doubt is the cable because before I installed the driver for Wi-Fi the internet was fine on ethernet.... the router is brand new, bought it 2 days ago. And i also have the latest drivers, if you think you can find the problem in my computer I might let u have a look inside with Team Viewer if you want.

Okay, I can tell you for sure that 1 Gbps isn't going to work via ethernet cable because the ASUS RT-AC52U states that it has 4 LAN ports which support 10/100Base-T. It could be that the router isn't auto-negotiating the speed, so you might as well try 100 Mbps at half-duplex. You never mentioned if your cable is Cat5, 5e, or 6, all of which can affect the connection.

It's a cheap cable, but I can go to buy a quality one now, wich type of cable should I buy? Auto-negotiating is only setting my ethernet on 10 mbps, also 100 half duplex is not working.

Then, issue the following commands: "ipconfig /release" and "ipconfig /renew" in the command prompt. If it doesn't work, do the same steps, except use half-duplex this time.

I did restarted the router and unplugged the cable that comes in my PC and after I unplugged the cable I set the connection at 100 mbps Full Duplex and it's different now because now the connection starts and stops (in a loop).

Same story on half duplex.

It doesn't work, 🙁, this is how it looks like, the local arena is just alternate from disconnected to limited like this:

Disconnected (I typed /ipconfig /release and /renew while it was disconnected.)
Limited (I typed /ipconfig /release and /renew while it was limited.)

Keep in mind that the connection stays 2 seconds on disconnected and 2 on limited. Local arena connection says Identifying but over and over.

Wich icon, I right clicked on the ethernet connection and there is no Repair function 😀

LOL, I fixed the problem, here is what I did:

1. Disable my connection.
2. Remove all cables from router.
3. Reinstall network driver.
4. Restart router (without cables).
5. Put cables back into the router.
6. Turn on network on the PC with 100 mbps Full duplex.
7. Voila, its working 😵
