Wanting to purchase cable extensions as the standard black cables look very meh. I looked around and found a kit on cablemod that looks pretty good but it's a bit more expensive than its competitors. Couldn't really get a clear answer elsewhere.

Cablemod kit: https://www.amazon.co.uk/CableMod-C...esh-Cable-Extension-Black-White/dp/B0799DB4Z6
The other kit: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ABNO1-Length-Extension-Supply-Sleeved/dp/B08JKDHJMY/

Problem is, it's almost twice as expensive and people are stating that they are having power issues with the cablemod kit. Would it be safe to go with the cheaper kit or is it worth the extra money to be spent on the cablemod kit ?

Thanks.

My recommendation is to stay with the standard black cables that came with the PSU.

Modular cables/extension should not be mixed and matched between/with other PSUs.

Some difference in the pin outs/connectors may lead to problems and/or permanent hardware damages.

Does not surprise me that "people are stating that they are having power issues with the cablemod kit".

I would be very wary of any such kits - expensive or not. Quality in design, materials, construction often dubious at best.

And after awhile, you will probably not even pay much attention to the cables anyway. Black or otherwise.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

Fair enough, thank you.

What you listed are extensions. Nothing says "make my voltages drop" like adding 18" to your wires and doubling the number of terminals. That's why people have power issues with them.

What PSU do you have? Is it not modular or something?

EVGA 750w G3 80+ .

So would it be better to just get full-length custom cables as opposed to extensions?
