Cable to freeview

Flat I've just moved into is set up for cable connection, can I just plug in a Freeview ready telly? Or do I need to subscribe to a cable provider?

Freeview uses an antenna. Don't connect it to the cable, connect it to an antenna.

If you want to use the cable connection, you need different hardware, and you need to pay.
