Hey guys,

as the name of the thread says: I've got some cables from cable mod for my Silverstone Strider 850 Watt. Everything works finde beside of the SATA power cables. When I use the cablemod cable the components doesnt get any power. When I tried it with the default cables everthing works well.

So, I think something is wired wrong. Does anybody have an other idea how i could solve this problem or maybe if there is something else that could cause this issue?
The other problem is i cant really compare the sleeved cable and the default cables because they are flat ones.

Thank you!

Best regards,

Solution
Those sata cables PSU side shows same layout with the top left corner not wired by design (no inner metal sheath). So what's left is either a physical defect (wiring bad contact = most probable at connector-pinholes level), or worse the inner wiring incorrect to the Sata connectors themselves could be potentially hazardous to your system. I would refrain from trying that cable mod again on my system unless able to meticulously verify inner wiring is identical to PSU original Sata cable or check with cable mod provider.
Definitely no metal inner sheath in the bottom right corner pinhole of the pictured mod cable that could be by design depending on the cable/PSU wiring, also make sure your mod-cables are compatible with your PSU as the wiring is different from brand to brand and even within the same brand from a model to another.

Hey,

the cable im holding is the sleeved SATA cable that doesnt work. It's the end that i plug into the PSU.
As comparison here a picture with both cables, the default and the costum one. (left sleeved, right default)

And of course its the right series... As you can see, in the default one, there is also a pin missing, and this one works!
