G1tMXQm[/MEDIA]Hello, I'm going to build my first computer on my own (the one I had before was built by an specialised person) and the cables I have become with my PSU have at the end (near of the connector) like a rubber surounding the cable. This is on PCIE and CPU cables, and the problem is that with this rubber the cable isn't flexible. So its really hard to direct the cables. So, my question is: Could I cut this out of the cable without any problems?
Thanks for answers!👍

Just to be sure: you can remove the small black "tie wrap" (twisted wire) that is holding the group of cables together.

As for the individual cables do not remove the rubber/tape holding the insulation to the wires going into the plug.

You should be able to gently bend and otherwise pre-shape the wire/plug ends to make it easier to plug the cable into the destination motherboard connector.

Doublecheck to ensure that you know exactly where each plug is to go before shaping the wires.

Take your time to plan the bends and perhaps some twisting to align plug to connector. Make any twists gradual and spread along the length of the wire.

Not one sudden hard twist somewhere....

Key is to avoid any pulling between wire and plug. A "pull" being as if you were trying to stretch the wires.

That sort of pull could cause the plug to come loose from the wires.

I have a Corsair PSU also and have the same type of cables. The rubber is there to protect the capacitors attached to the cables. Do not remove it. It is a dumb design on Corsair's part and makes bending the cables a pain and looks ugly imo.
