Cabling and fan questions about new PC

First off, this is the build I am looking at right now: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qd3zdX

I have a few questions.

1. Will I need to buy SATA cables separately? I have a 4TB hard drive that I am using in my current system that I am going to add to the new system, so I have a cable, but I want to make sure that either/or the MB or the HD come with one.
2. Will I need a fan controller for all those additional case fans? From the limited research I have done, most/all fan controllers use a 3.5 bay in the front of the machine which is not an option for this case.
3. Is there anything I am missing here that I will need (besides thermal paste) to get this thing up and running? I will use the mouse/keyboard/monitor from my old system.

4. Will all those fans help with a bit of overclocking? I am not ready to jump into liquid cooling so if air flow is not enough I just will not be doing much overclocking. Fan noise is not an issue.

As you can see it has been a long time since I built my own PC with these noob questions. I might miss the DVD drive for watching movies, but if that is the case, I will just buy an external one.

and the 212 cooler master is really a basic cooler which do not allow for really that much of overclock.
and are you gaming? 2*16 gb is not needed for games and probably wont be that future proof

Boards either come with 2 minimum sata cables included, some come with 4.

So you're covered anyway there.

Thermal paste comes with the 212 evo.
I would however pick a different cooler to that, it is just about capable of handling a 8700k but you really want somerhing better.

You are aware the meshify comes with 2 fans already??

I would just buy 2 X 140mm fans for the front, remove the one that's in & refit it as a top rear exhaust.

That gives you 2 X 140mm intakes, 2 X 120mm exhaust - more than enough

You are however going to need splitters to run more than 2 fans.

Ok, I swapped the cooler. what do you think of this? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/pKXmpG

I play modded Minecraft, amongst other games, which can be a memory hog. I alocate 10 gig to java when playing Minecraft. That doesn't leave me much overhead with several chrome tabs open and the OS at 16gb of ram.

I am aware that the case comes with fans, but it has options for lots more although those are probably primarily there with radiators in mind. How many splitters can I hook up? Is it just 2 for the 2 slots on the motherboard? My cooling strategy is the front/bottom will bring air in and the rear/top will exhaust air. Is this viable? Thanks so much for your input so far.
