Hey everyone,

last week I asked help for my SSD choice. Now that I have made my decision and started to read some articles, I ended here.

I want to ask this: the article says I should move my page files, cache files and Indexing files to a HDD. I have a 320 GB 3,5" 7200 RPM HDD for my personal files, and I will use my old (laptop) 160 GB 2,5" 5400 RPM HDD for my backup and this system files. I want to make two separate partitions, but how big should I make the one for the system files? Woudl 5 GB be enough? Or should I get up to 20? I'm sure somebody will have this 'problem', so I hope someone can help me.

I haven't ordered the SSD yet, so I have plenty of time regarding all options 🙂

thanks

You don't really need to do that if you're buying a current generation SSD in 2012.

SSDs have very good Wear Leveling algorithms in their firmware which allows you to write enormous amounts of data before the drive will die.

The vast majority of new model SSDs will last over 10 years before you run out of Write cycles.
