I am building a CAD station for a coworker. He is on a $900-$1000 budget. I have a few questions:
1. Can he use a graphics card such as an AMD 270X? Does he need something as expensive as, say, a K4000 card for example? He is using 2D CAD and 3D max software, as well as Maya and Alias.
2. Rendering is more CPU intensive. Can he use something like an i5-4590 or 4690, or should he opt for a Xeon 1230-V3?
He is re-using a monitor, so everything is in 1080p, if that makes any difference.
