Can anyone advise on the following build
its for a work pc running Solidworks. i know there are better components but this is a substantial upgrade from what i am currently running.
The Mobo Cpu & ram are coming as a bundle
this is pretty much at the max of my budget
just wondered if anyone could advise on this setup, someone told me the Cpu & Mobo is not a good match but from what i have read it seems ok and i assume they wouldnt sell it as a bundle if it was terrible.

Motherboard - Asus Prime H310M-K
Processor – I5 9600K 6Core
Ram – Adata XPG Gammix 32GB 3000Mhz
Graphics – Quadro P2200 5 GB
SSD – Adata Ultimate SU 800 256GB
PSU – Corsair TX550M 550W
Parallel Port – StarTech 1 Port PCI Express Low Profile
Aero Cool Hive V2 Midi Tower

Thanks Luke

Solution
This would be a better option, than a 9600k.

What cad programs and year of SW oar you using?

We have Delcam Powershape and Power mill, Solidworks 2014, and Siemans NX at work

CAD computers run
i7 8600
16GB ram
Quadro P2000
256 SSD

I run Siemans NX, and Fusion 360
AMD 3600x
16Gb ram
Gtx 780 TI classified
1TB samsung NVMe

I wouldnt think you would have any issues with your setup.

Faster ram, for the money you can get a 3200 or 3400mhz kit. It will help out a bit in performance. Your choice of CPU/MOBO is good. The only other thing is the gpu, Based on my location... those gpu's are showing up as $500 (+/-) and you could potentially get a 1080, 2060, or even a 2nd gen gtx titan for the same money with similar performance or slightly better. Honestly, what you have is solid for your intended purposes. IF you do opt for a different GPU keep in mind you will most likely need a beefier power supply.

Solidworks, while it probably can work with a gaming GPU, it is not certified to do so. Quadros are preferred, for SW. Also, unless you get a Z series chipset, you are limited to 2666 memory speeds. If you want faster ram, you need to get a Z series board, or an AMD Ryzen setup. Also, the i5 10400f is cheaper, and better, than a 9600k, right now.

What is the budget?
This is coming out at about £1000 inc vat and that is kinda what I've set as a budget.
I'm happy with this Spec for the price, i was concerned with if these work well together rather than looking for upgrades if that makes sense
i have had to draw a line somewhere with so many options.

I've found the Gpu for £350 which seems reasonable, i will look at the Ram Thank you

My current set up is
i5-6500 3.2Ghz
Quadro k1200
16GB Ram 21300Mhz

The Mobo & Cpu (9600k) is £255 with stock cooler
or an extra £156 with the ram
or the i5 10400f alone from the same site is £140 maybe cheaper elsewhere but seems like decent deal on the 9600k?

So i'm hoping it should be quite a step up

Thanks

The 9600K don't come with a cooler so their no stock cooler.

Buy a better motherboard and with the one you have listed their no reason to buy faster memory since the board will not run it.

For programs that can use all the cores/threads the 10400F is the better processor.

oh the bundle comes with a cooler i assumed stock or at least a basic one.
Solidworks is mainly what we use and for basic modelling its doesn't use multiple cores i believe. Their site recommends Speed over Cores and a min of 3Ghz

are saying no point going for faster than 3000Mhz ?
or is 3000Mhz too fast.
Sorry i'm a bit lost with Ram

Thanks

As someone who works in this field, I can say that Autodesk apps will work with a gaming / consumer GPU but I wouldn't really recommend it. I would assume it's probably the same for Solidworks. But Quadros are expensive and hard to come by even when there's no coin mining craze and GPU shortage going on.
